Before: Our homegrown tomatoes
After: Chicken stew
I sometimes look at cooking blogs. It always looks so tempting with the photos of delicious food. So today I'm pretending that I'm good at cooking. I'm also pretending that I was the one responsible for growing the tomatoes

some nice drawings, fantasies

A drawing of Jason and Liam playing baseball
He drew a picture of me cutting his hair and then asked to fly it over to Sweden so he could give it to cousin Elina. We put it in the mail instead. Included in the picture is a sad Liam, hair, the scissors in the middle, and IActually, now that I look at it I notice the unproportional size of the scissors, the hair everywhere and the sad look on Liam's face. Also, he's bigger than me which is interesting. Makes me want to go give him a hug

Today Liam pretended that he shot a tiger and we had it for dinner together with macaroni. Wonder where he gets everything from... He also uses some funny expressions that I didn't know he knew. For example, yesterday in the car I asked him in Swedish "do you like this song?" "yes, I'm satisfied with it" (ja, jag är nöjd med den)

Car seat safety

Many people are surprised when they see that I keep Liam (3yrs old) rear-facing in the car. In the US, most people turn their children forward by the time they are 1 yr old and 20lbs. However, the risk of severe spinal injuries or death in the event of a crash is about 5 times higher than if the baby stays rear-facing longer.

In Sweden, people don't turn their kids forward until they are four yrs old, thereby minimizing the risk of severe injury.

I usually don't like to preach to people what to do, but I truly think this is something most people don't know about

If you look to the right of this page, I added two links to videos that demonstrate the difference between forward-facing and rear-facing in the event of a crash

Saturday morning, Liam, Jason, Grandma and Grandpa went to the Griffith observatory. Exactly what they did there I'm not sure because I was having a nice long nap together with Erik. They said they had a good time though

Vasa park Swedish fair

Last sunday there was a Swedish fair at Vasa park in Agoura hills. They had Scandinavian crafts for sale and a meatball cookoff. It was fun for the whole family
