Look who's walking!

Since I'm so proud, I have to brag about Liam being able to walk. Today he's been standing up and walking around. At yoga, suddenly he stood up and walked over to the instructor. He's also aquired another almost equally important skill, which is to fall softly back on his bum. Today is the first day when I've been able to let him roam around the house by himself without following him around trying to prevent him from cracking his head open.

second word - sort of

"Hally"

This morning when we were playing in Liam's room, Harry the dog came in. When Liam saw Harry, he said "ha." So I said "Harry," whereupon Liam said "Hally." It was cute, even though I think he was just lucky. Same thing with the "fläkt" word, he hasn't said it again.

On a different note, we had the night from hell last night. Liam had a stuffy nose and woke up about every hour. I'm in a daze right now. He's definitely getting saline drops before bed tonight.

Kristin's bridal shower

Delishus banana

Liam and I went to my friend Kristin's bridal shower. We had a great time although we could just just stay for a couple of hours. I met Kristin when we both studied at the School Psychologist program at Nova. Kristin is one of those people who's just beautiful inside and out. She is marrying her Christian in Veil, Colorado, in June. I wish we could have gone to the wedding but it's just before we're going to Sweden.

Friday at Jaxons!

Anna and I decided the only way to beat the heat was to cool down with some ice cream at Jaxons! And boy, was it delicious! Luckily, Liam and Philip had no idea what they missed out on... Ironically, I felt bad about giving Liam yoghurt with sugar the other day (organic albeit), but personally I didn't hesitate to chow down half a gallon of ice cream.

New menu!

Liam is loving Anna's pancake!

We went for Liam's 9 month check-up. He weighed in at 24 lbs and measured 30 inches long, which puts him in the 90th percentile. He's iron levels were fine. The doctor told us we should now evolve his menu and include foods such as eggs, dairy and fish. She encouraged us to try spicy, exciting foods such as Indian to broaden his horizons. Sounds great to me! Also, he should have dinner with us so eating becomes more of a social event. The self-feeding takes messiness to a whole new level, but eating is a multi-sensory experience that's meant to be fun!

delicious pie at Viveka's

Liam and I went over to Viveka's house for some delicious pie. There are so many interesting animals to look at there: Max the dog, Lucky the cat and all the fishies. Ann-Sofi and Johanna were there as well. Viveka's house is looking great! She's got some awesome panel curtains from IKEA. We had a lovely time, Liam included...

Hot Sunday

well, summer's definitely here if there was any doubt. Temperatures in the 90s F (30C+) and the humidity of a sauna. We defied the sweltering heat and went to have brunch at Las Olas. We ate at the Gran Forno, took a picture by a nice car (corvette was it?) and had ice cream at Dairy Queen.

On a different note, I'm happy to report that Liam is back to falling asleep easily. He had a couple of weeks of refusing to go down for the night. Also, the other day he walked about 10 steps all by himself.

Harry's birthday

Harry turned 4 years old and we thought he deserved a cake since he only eats kibbles everyday (yeah right!). I also got my hair did for the first time in over a year. Liam likes it since it is more "pullable" now.

sore throat

Still in a good mood

oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later - we finally caught a cold. It's not that bad, we're just snotty and slightly sore throat. Luckily, no fever. Liam is in a good mood still, but it sucks that we couldn't see our friends Anna and Philip. The weather is great so we might go to the desolate playground in Snyder park so we can get some fresh air without getting other kids sick.

Mother's day + Liam's first word

Liam staring at the ceiling fan only a few days old

I'm very proud to announce that Liam said his first word today. We were just waking up in the bed when Liam pointed at the ceiling fan and said "fläkt" (fan). So his fist word wasn't "mamma" or "pappa" but "fläkt." Pretty funny. He has loved fans since the first time he saw one when he was a few days old.

Summer is approaching

Today Anna and Philip came to visit. We went to Snyder park playground and checked out an adjacent lake. Very nice but very, very hot! Summer's almost here, yuck.

Already May

Time flies quickly now-a-days! It's almost time for the other Bagleys to drive back to boston for the summer. They'll come visit tomorrow and stay until thursday.
