Unexpected California trip

At the spur of the moment, we decided to go to San Jose,California (Jason was asked to go work there for two weeks so Liam and I tagged along). During Jason's free time, we got the opportunity to go sight-seeing. We went to San Fransisco a couple of times, and went up in the mountains to see Redwood forest. We stayed at a local apartment which made things easier from a practical standpoint.
The last week was a little tough since I was quite wiped out by a stomach bug and once I recovered Liam got a high fever for a couple of days. Luckily the trip back went well and now we're all doing ok. (Oh, and Jason had a birthday but don't mention that to him).

One messy dinner

Today is mormor's birthday so we're wishing her a lovely day together with the rest of the family!

This morning, a funny incident happened as I was putting Liam on my back in the carrier. As usual, I counted "ett, två...." and then I heard Liam's little voice behind my back say "tre!" (three). Jason heard it too so I have a witness.

Last night, Jason and I were both tired and we just felt like enjoying our own food, so we let Liam go to town. It made for a really messy dinner.

Orlando and Swedish school

Liam and Jason
Liam and Ethan playing
Fathers and sons out by Lake Eola in Orlando (there's a playground right next to it)
Liam's class at Swedish school
We've had a fun and busy weekend. On Thursday evening, we went to Orlando to visit Ethan, 22 mos, and his parents Ben and Carrie. We had a great weekend together with them, and thanks to hurricane Hanna we had lovely weather as well. We drove back Saturday evening so that we could go to Swedish school on Sunday. Swedish school meets every second sunday and there are about 55 kids enrolled. We have a great time playing and singing Swedish songs. Anna and Philip are also enrolled, and we're meeting other friends as well.

Having fun with signs

Liam signing "more"
"hurry hurry"
Harry is such a good boy
Two friends exploring the backyard
Before I had a child, I used to think parents who taught their hearing babies sign language were obnoxious and pathetic in their attempts to create "super-babies." Now I realize that such parents probably just preferred being signed to rather than yelled at by their frustrated babies. My ears were getting sore from Liam whining so I taught him some simple signs such as "more", "help", "eat," and "drink." Actually, he created a sign himself: "fan." (fläkt alltså inte djävulen även om det vore lite roligt). He loves signing and he gets so happy when I understand him. I've noticed that he is also trying to say the word as he is signing, but he's not quite there yet.
