Philip's 1st birthday!

This has been an eventful week! The most important occasion was that Philip turned one! He had a big birthday party with his dad's family visiting from NJ. They were all very nice. Philip, Liam and Doug had a blast as usual and they all did great considering there were a bunch of people there.

Earlier in the week, Liam was sick with a cold. I think his stuffiness was the reason he stopped nursing cold turkey on me. Ouch! I had planned a weaning process but in a sense it was easier this way. But definitely more painful. I'll just leave it at that. As a consequence, Liam also falls asleep on his own. Well, there's still some snuggling involved but that is the highlight of my day so we'll keep that part. Such a big boy.

And where do you think you're going?

Thank you Sutka family and Cummins family for the awesome bag!

We're actually enjoying the summer thanks to our wonderful friends. Thanks god for Millie, Luc and Philip and their moms! There's nothing better than a swim in the pool on a muggy afternoon.

Congratulations to Kicki and Marcus! Little Astrid was born yesterday! So happy for you and can't wait to see her and hear the details...

This weekend we had two parties! On Saturday, we had one for Liam and his friends and a barbecue on Sunday. We had such a good time and Liam got many nice gifts. On Saturday, Liam's friends Luc, Philip and big boy Caden came over, and their parents too of course. Liam is lucky that he have such wonderful friends already. Luc and Philip are both such nice guys, and so is Caden!

During his first 10 months or so, Liam preferred to be close to me or in my arms. Now, he's really enjoying socializing (after he gets some time to warm up he goes up to people and ask them to pick him up) and daddy is the big hero. I'm happy he's found his confidence and I'm very proud of him.

In other news, we're waiting to see what tropical storm Fay is up to. We might get pretty rough winds here tonight. I'm not worried about it but I hope we don't lose power because it really sucks to not have AC.

Today Liam turned one year old. We've had a very nice day together with Grandpa Bagley, Johanna, and Viveka. We went to Cheesecake factory for lunch where Liam and I shared Pasta Alfredo. Afterwards, we had cake at the house. Next weekend, we'll have a birthday party for Liam and his friends and Sunday we'll have a barbeque for the grownups

home again!

Liam in another of my old tshirts. This one says "olympic games in Moskow 1980"
After a long trip we are safely home again. The plane ride went really well, we got three bulkhead seats all by ourselves so Liam could roam around quite freely. It feels nice to be home after a wonderful trip.

Saying goodbye

Such well-behaved children!
Hey! What happened?

After a lovely few weeks it's time to go back again. It's going to be so nice to see Jason and Harry again, but it just breaks my heart to leave every time. I wish things would be different and we would live here or at least closer to here. Time will tell what happens, and if Jason wants to stay in the US or relocate. I'm just afraid that he wouldn't be happy here and that could be tough for our family. Perhaps we can compromise somehow.
