Car seat safety

Many people are surprised when they see that I keep Liam (3yrs old) rear-facing in the car. In the US, most people turn their children forward by the time they are 1 yr old and 20lbs. However, the risk of severe spinal injuries or death in the event of a crash is about 5 times higher than if the baby stays rear-facing longer.

In Sweden, people don't turn their kids forward until they are four yrs old, thereby minimizing the risk of severe injury.

I usually don't like to preach to people what to do, but I truly think this is something most people don't know about
